Russian federal budget expenditures for military items reached a new record of 11.85 trillion rubles (approximately 149.4 billion dollars) in the period from January to September 2025, according to The Moscow Times. This amount represents a 30% increase compared to the same period last year and is 95% higher than in 2023, 173% more than in 2022, and 295% compared to 2021. On average, Russia spent 1.32 trillion rubles monthly, 43.4 billion rubles daily, and 1.9 billion rubles per hour on military activities. Additionally, 44% of federal tax revenues and 39% of total expenditures were allocated for the war, both figures being historical highs. Since the beginning of the war against Ukraine, costs for Russian taxpayers have reached 42.34 trillion rubles (542 billion dollars).
