Romania has secured a tranche of 800 million euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) after a bill regarding the heating sector was approved by the first committees in the Chamber of Deputies, announces the liberal Sebastian Burduja.
He emphasized that the new legislation does not impose bans, but offers financing solutions for households that wish to upgrade their heating systems. Burduja dismissed rumors about the obligation to replace traditional stoves, stating that this will be done voluntarily. More than half of the households in Romania use wood stoves, which have low efficiency, generating high costs.
The law will allow the development of support programs for the adoption of modern technologies, such as heat pumps. The adoption of this project is essential for meeting milestone 128 of the PNRR and for combating illegal logging.
The project will continue its legislative path in Parliament, aiming to ensure Romania's energy independence.
