In the first half of 2025, Romania imported goods from China worth 4.3 billion euros, an increase of 26% compared to the previous year, surpassing Poland and Turkey. However, exports to China were only 331.9 million euros, leading to a trade deficit of 4 billion euros, representing 24% of the country's total deficit. Imports are dominated by cheap consumer goods, without generating local added value, which contributes to an unhealthy trade model.
