Following the Government meeting on Thursday, the Government spokesperson, Ioana-Nadina Dogioiu, announced that Romania will benefit from 14.3 million euros from the European Union Solidarity Fund.
This amount has been approved by the European Commission and will be used to cover part of the expenses caused by the extreme floods that occurred in May-June 2025. During that period, 125 people from the counties of Brașov, Covasna, and Harghita were evacuated due to the floods, and another 27 people were isolated in Neamț County. The floods had a significant impact, affecting even the Praid Salt Mine.
This financial assistance comes as an important support for managing the consequences of these natural disasters.
