OMV Petrom has announced the discovery of a new natural gas field in Spineni, located 70 km northeast of Craiova, with a production potential of 1,300 boepd/d. The exploration well was drilled at 4,800 meters and confirmed the presence of natural gas and condensate. So far, the company has invested €15 million in the exploration phase, and plans to allocate 5.8 billion lei for exploration and production by 2025. The discovery is considered commercial and the next step is the approval of the development plan.
