Euro and dollar rose against the leu, while sterling and the gold gram fell

On the first day of the week, the euro rose to 4.9774 lei and the dollar to 4.5431 lei, both up from Friday. The pound fell to 5.8379 lei, while the Swiss franc rose to 5.3277 lei. The gold gram fell to 442.3381 lei, continuing the depreciation trend. The IMF unit of account also rose by 0.056 lei to 6.0602 lei. Exchange rates are set by the NBR on the basis of quotes from authorized banks.
