The UN report on the global economic situation forecasts a decline in global economic growth to 2.7% in 2026, down from 2.8% in 2025, with a slight acceleration to 2.9% in 2027, remaining below the pre-pandemic average of 3.2% (2010-2019). The increase in tariffs imposed by the US in 2025 has generated trade tensions, but without major disruptions in international trade. The global economy has shown resilience, supported by anticipated deliveries and solid consumption, however, trade growth will slow down in the short term. In the US, economic growth has slowed to 1.9% in 2025, with a slight increase to 2.0% in 2026. Inflation will remain above the target of 2% in 2026, but will moderate. China will have a growth of 4.6% in 2026, and the European Union will register a growth of 1.3% in 2026, with resilient consumption but exports under pressure due to higher tariffs. In South Asia, growth will be 5.6% in 2026, and India will have an advance of 6.6% in the same year, supported by robust consumption and public investments.
