Digi Communications, the Romanian telecommunications operator, announced that it rejects any takeover offer, including speculation regarding a possible acquisition by the Spanish group Telefónica, valued at approximately 3.8 billion euros. CEO Serghei Bulgac stated that Digi does not intend to raise prices, having healthy margins, and Romania remains the main cash engine of the group. The company relies on a business model with simple packages and affordable prices, considering itself competitive in the European market.
Meanwhile, Digi is preparing to list its operations in Spain, with a capital increase estimated between 150-200 million euros, to support expansion in this market. Digi Spain, 100% controlled by Digi Romania, has become the fourth operator in the Spanish market, with a value of approximately 2.5 billion euros. The majority shareholder of the group is Zoltán Teszári, and Digi is also active in other European countries, such as Italy, Portugal, and Belgium.
