Dumitru Chisăliță, the president of the Intelligent Energy Association, warns that the price of diesel will not decrease to accessible levels, with the threshold of 10 lei/liter becoming the new standard.
In a recent analysis, Chisăliță emphasizes that the current situation is not a temporary crisis, but a profound structural change in the energy market. He explains that energy globalization has been affected, and European states are now prioritizing energy security at the expense of costs, leading to higher prices. He also mentions that Europe has become dependent on imports of finished products, and refining capacity has decreased. Chisăliță highlights that high taxes and geopolitical uncertainties contribute to maintaining high prices.
The expert stated that cheap diesel is a relic of a vanished world, and the new equilibrium will be characterized by higher and more unstable prices.
