On Wednesday, the Bucharest Tribunal rejected the petition filed by Anima Wings Aviation SA to initiate its own insolvency proceedings, but the requests submitted by creditors will be examined separately on November 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The court ordered the separation of the petitions filed by dozens of creditors, including Banca Transilvania, ROMATSA, Bucharest Airports National Company, several airports across the country, companies, and individuals. Four of the creditors were summoned to pay the court stamp duty of 200 lei, under penalty of having their petitions annulled.

The decision does not end the creditors’ proceedings, which will be heard at the date set in November. The Bucharest Tribunal’s ruling may be appealed within seven days of notification.

AnimaWings filed for insolvency on September 30, saying it sought to continue operations, stabilize its activities, and restructure its obligations. Before this move, the company announced the gradual withdrawal of its six Airbus A220-300 aircraft, citing repeated technical problems. Subsequently, the operator suspended scheduled flights until October 25, describing the measure as temporary and intended to reorganize its flight schedules.
