The British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has confirmed that it is in discussions with potential financiers to raise additional funds, aiming to strengthen liquidity and support its development strategy. The company is constantly analyzing its capital structure and available strategic options, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an adequate level of liquidity.
The announcement came after Bloomberg News reported that Aston Martin is negotiating with several creditors, including HPS Investment Partners, an investment fund owned by BlackRock. The financing could be secured through a financial operation called a 'drop-down transaction', which would place the assets outside the reach of existing creditors.
The company is facing financial pressures due to high cash consumption, declining sales, and weak demand from China.
In April, Aston Martin secured £50 million in financing, but its shares fell by 2.3% following the announcement of the financing negotiations.
