Stellantis shares rose by more than 12% on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and by approximately 9% in Milan after the European automaker reported quarterly results above analysts’ expectations and reaffirmed its financial targets for 2026 and 2027.
The company’s revenue, generated by brands including Jeep, Chrysler, Peugeot and Fiat, increased by 1% in the third quarter to €37.6 billion. Adjusted operating profit rose 184%, from €90 million to €256 million. However, free cash flow from industrial activities remained negative at minus €4 billion, although the cash outflow decreased compared with the previous year.
Stellantis confirmed its forecasts for 2026 and its objective of returning to positive industrial free cash flow in 2027. Management says the €60 billion recovery plan is progressing faster than expected.
The group estimates savings of €2.4 billion by early 2027 and investments of €36 billion in its model portfolio, with approximately 60% expected to be directed toward North America. The strategy includes launching new vehicles and modernizing existing models.
The recovery is taking place amid pressure from Chinese manufacturers and difficulties in the European automotive market. Stellantis aims to increase revenue to €190 billion by 2030 and achieve an adjusted operating margin of 7%.
