ANAF denies that it will tax the money in Romanians' bank accounts by 10 percent.

In an official statement, ANAF clarified that there are no intentions or regulations regarding the taxation of sums held in citizens' bank accounts. The ANAF emphasized that there is no tax on money in individuals' bank accounts, but only on interest or gains realized from investments, under the conditions provided by law.
