ANAF warned on Friday, October 16, that fraudulent websites have emerged, misusing the institution’s name to collect personal, tax, and banking data. Unofficial platforms request sensitive information such as the personal identification number, home address, email address, details about bank accounts, balances, and monthly income.
The institution recommends that taxpayers not complete forms on such websites and not transmit personal, tax, or banking data. ANAF also asks them not to install applications at the request of individuals claiming to represent the institution.
In the event of accidentally accessing a fraudulent platform or providing sensitive information, taxpayers must urgently notify the competent authorities and, if necessary, their bank. ANAF reminds taxpayers that the Virtual Private Space is the official and secure channel for communicating with the institution.
Taxpayers are urged to verify information only through ANAF’s official channels. The institution is cooperating with the competent authorities to combat fraud and continues its public information campaigns.
