DNSC warns: Fake websites imitate well-known brands to obtain personal and banking data

The National Directorate for Cyber Security (DNSC) is warning about websites created to imitate the official pages of online stores and persuade users to provide personal or banking details. The fraudulent pages use addresses similar to real domains, copy the logo, name and appearance of well-known brands, and promote very large discounts or limited-time offers.

DNSC gives as an example a warning from the Musette brand, which reported the appearance of websites using its name, logo and products without authorization.

Users should carefully check the address in the browser bar, company information, contact details and return conditions. A familiar logo and page design do not guarantee authenticity. Online stores should be accessed by manually entering the official address or through the company’s official sources.

People who have entered their card details on a suspicious website should contact their bank immediately, using official channels. Websites and fraud attempts can be reported to DNSC through the PNRISC platform or by calling 1911. The list of fraudulent pages is updated continuously, and DNSC’s browser extension can block access to the included websites.
