Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), together with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), supports the development of a major solar project in Romania, with a total capacity of 190 MW. The project includes three photovoltaic parks located in Dolj and Olt counties, with a total value of 121 million euros, and will produce electricity for over 160,000 households annually. BCR contributes 42.5 million euros, acting as the main local banking partner.

Construction works will begin once the financing structure is agreed upon, and commissioning is estimated for the second half of 2027. The project is owned 65% by Scatec ASA and 35% by Defic Globe Enerji A.Ş., which is responsible for engineering and construction. Additionally, two of the parks benefit from contracts for difference (CfD) for 15 years, thus supporting national renewable energy goals. This investment contributes to the energy security of Romania and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
