The German DIY store chain Hammer Raumstylisten GmbH has entered insolvency, affecting 87 locations and approximately 1,100 employees. The District Court of Bielefeld decided, on January 27, 2026, to establish provisional insolvency administration, just a few months after announcing the brand's rescue through a consortium of investors.

This is the company's second insolvency, the first occurring in June 2025, when the Brüder Schlau group sought protection from creditors. Recent issues were caused by delays in deliveries and technical failures of the logistics systems, leading to a decrease in sales and financial difficulties.

Although the company has entered insolvency, all 87 Hammer stores remain open, and operational activities continue. Hammer, with a tradition of over 45 years, is a major supplier of interior design products in Germany.
