A 36-year-old Romanian man blocked railway traffic on the high-speed line between Ingolstadt and Nuremberg after he entered the Euerwang tunnel under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on Monday evening when a witness noticed the man's presence near the railway and alerted the authorities.

The Federal Police immediately closed the tunnel and conducted a search operation. The man was found about 80 meters inside the tunnel, carrying an empty sports bag, which initially raised suspicions of a terrorist attack, but was ruled out as a threat.

According to available information, the man was celebrating his release from prison and missed the train, trying to walk to Nuremberg. The closure of the route caused significant disruptions in railway traffic, and an investigation has been initiated against him.
