A 37-year-old woman was involved in an accident on the Road of Death, having a blood alcohol level of over 3 grams per liter, according to blood tests taken at the hospital.
Before being stopped by the police, she hit a car from behind, pushing it into the opposite lane, where it collided with another vehicle. Although the accident was serious, there were no recorded casualties. At the scene of the accident, police officers had difficulties convincing the woman to blow correctly into the breathalyzer, the initial result being 1.85 milligrams of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. Subsequently, blood tests confirmed a blood alcohol level of 3.12 g/l.
Ionuț Epureanu, spokesperson for the Suceava Police Inspectorate, announced that the woman was detained and will be brought before the court with a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days. The other two drivers involved in the accident had not consumed alcohol.
