President Nicușor Dan announced on Wednesday evening that he has signed the decrees for the appointments to the leadership of the Prosecutor's Office next to the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICC), the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA), and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). The head of state did not sign the decree for the appointment of Gill-Julien Grigore-Iacobici, deputy at DIICOT.
Nicușor Dan signed the following appointment decrees: Cristina Chiriac - general prosecutor, Marius Voineag - deputy general prosecutor, Viorel Cerbu - chief prosecutor of DNA, Marius-Ionel Ștefan - deputy chief prosecutor of DNA, Marinela Mincă - deputy chief prosecutor of DNA, Codrin-Horațiu Miron - chief prosecutor of DIICOT, Alex Florența - deputy chief prosecutor of DIICOT.
Cristina Chiriac has been leading DNA Iași since 2022, where, in the last year, the 8 prosecutors have drawn up 3 indictments and 8 plea agreements. She advanced rapidly, in 2015, to DIICOT and then DNA, after five years of activity at the prosecutor's offices next to the courts in Bârlad and Vaslui. She was appointed prosecutor by President Traian Băsescu in 2012, starting at the Prosecutor's Office next to the Bârlad Court.
Marius Voineag has been, for the last three years, the chief prosecutor of DNA. Voineag began his term at DNA by telling the subordinate prosecutors that he wants to transform the institution into a DNA 2.0, which fights against major corruption.
Viorel Cerbu has worked at DNA since 2004 and has held various leadership positions at the level of the sections. In 2013, prosecutor Cerbu left DNA for DIICOT. Subsequently, in 2019 he was appointed general prosecutor at the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
Marius-Ionel Ștefan has been the chief prosecutor of DNA Pitești since April 2022.
Marinela Mincă has been the chief prosecutor of the criminal judicial section within the National Anti-Corruption Directorate since January 2024.
Codrin-Horațiu Miron has 29 years of experience in the system. He started his career at the Prosecutor's Office next to the Arad Court, and over the years has led DIICOT structures in Arad and Timișoara.
Alex Florența has been the general prosecutor of Romania since 2023. Florența has been considered a discreet general prosecutor, with former judge Cristi Danileț stating that "he was not a strong enough voice" for the Public Ministry.
