Nicușor Dan comments on the corruption case of Ciprian Ciucu

The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, declared on Saturday that the information known to the public in the corruption case concerning his successor at the Capital City Hall, Ciprian Ciucu, is strictly what has been officially communicated by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA).

Asked by journalists where he would have information about possible transcripts, after he publicly stated on Friday that "in the end" they no longer appear in the press, the head of state explained: "What I said yesterday - and what I reaffirm today - is that what we all know from that case is what DNA communicates and that is how it should be. But of course, at the moment when prosecutors say that there are indications that something happened, it is evident that there is some evidence, which none of us know today. That is the normality."

Nicușor Dan also highlighted that the absence of information leaks from cases in the last two months represents an important procedural progress in the activity of the new chief prosecutors, refusing, however, to comment directly on the facts investigated in the case of Ciprian Ciucu.
