Răzvan Doseanu, the lawyer of Viorel Pașca, announced on social media that the Dumbrava Association has been fined a record amount of 1 million lei by the Bihor Territorial Labor Inspectorate.
This fine comes in the context in which Pașca and his collaborators have been accused by DIICOT of illegally sheltering over 3,300 people in unlicensed nursing homes, with the aim of obtaining income from their exploitation. Additionally, the lawyer mentioned that all of Pașca's assets have been seized, and his bank accounts have been frozen. Prosecutors claim that the licensed kitchens were missing from the nursing homes and that, over the course of 17 years, approximately 1,020 of the sheltered individuals have died.
Furthermore, the DIICOT report includes serious accusations, such as abuse and medical negligence. The Bucharest Tribunal rejected the request for preventive arrest of Pașca, who has been placed under judicial control, and the appeals will be judged on July 9.
