Two men from Timiș County have been charged with murder, suspected of having beaten and set a person on fire. It is not known if the victim was alive at the time of the fire.

Two men have been detained by prosecutors in Timiș, being suspected of committing the crime of murder in the locality of Ciacova. The incident took place on the night of October 18-19, 2025, when, following a spontaneous conflict, the two physically assaulted a male individual, repeatedly hitting him with their fists and feet in the head and chest area. After the victim became unconscious, the assailants dragged him into another room, where they continued to beat him. Subsequently, they covered him with clothes and set him on fire, leaving the residence and locking the door.

Prosecutors could not determine whether the victim was alive at the time of the fire. According to the forensic report, the death was caused by severe polytrauma. The two men will be presented to the Timiș Tribunal to request preventive detention for 30 days.
