The former Minister of Justice, Tudorel Toader, commented on the president's initiative to organize a referendum among magistrates, emphasizing that it has no legal finality. Toader stated that the president cannot organize a referendum for magistrates, having the exclusive competence to initiate a referendum of national interest.

He emphasized that the president's statement that the CSM should go home is impossible without a revision of the Constitution, a complex and lengthy process. Additionally, Toader considered the president's declaration to be an interference in justice and criticized the wording of the proposed question for the referendum, deeming it unclear and unconstitutional.
