Tragedy in Săucești: A 16-year-old boy died after falling into the Siret River

The military firefighters from Bacău intervened in the commune of Săucești, village of Șerbești, to save a 16-year-old boy, who was pulled from the Siret River in a state of unconsciousness.

Emergency crews from the County Ambulance Service and the SMURD helicopter from Galați were dispatched to provide the necessary medical assistance. Despite the efforts made by the intervention teams and the resuscitation maneuvers, the doctor on the helicopter declared the victim dead.

The spokesperson for ISU Bacău, Ancuța Socaci, confirmed the tragic incident. Currently, police are conducting investigations in a criminal case for involuntary manslaughter, to establish the exact circumstances of the event.
