Two 16-year-old teenagers died after the car they were in caught fire in Suceava County

Two 16-year-old teenagers died Saturday morning in a road accident in the village of Fântâna Mare, Suceava County. The car they were in left the road on a bend, hit a bridge abutment and caught fire.
Military firefighters responded with a fire engine, extrication equipment and a SMURD ambulance. When the crews arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, the two victims were found inside, burned beyond recognition.
According to initial checks, the car was allegedly driven by one of the boys, a 16-year-old from Fântâna Mare commune. The other teenager, also 16, was from the municipality of Fălticeni.
Police established that the teenager behind the wheel did not have a driving licence. Investigators are checking how he came to drive the car and the exact circumstances of the accident. A criminal case has been opened for negligent manslaughter and driving a vehicle without a driving licence. The investigation is ongoing.
