The four-year-old child missing from Dofteana was found dead in the Trotuș River

The four-year-old child who went missing from the town of Dofteana, Bacău County, was found dead in the bed of the Trotuș River, according to Digi24. Iosif Laurențiu Avram had apparently left home alone, and the family reported him missing after failing to find him.

The boy had apparently left the house shortly before 2:00 p.m., after finding the door open. His parents searched for him for approximately an hour, then alerted the police. Subsequently, the authorities launched a large-scale search operation in the town and nearby areas.

Police officers, gendarmes, volunteers, and mountain rescuers took part in the searches. Salvamont Bacău used drones to survey the terrain, while a helicopter belonging to the General Aviation Inspectorate flew over the region.

Before the child was found, surveillance camera footage had captured him running alone on a street in the town. He was not accompanied by anyone. The circumstances in which the child ended up in the Trotuș River are to be determined by investigators.
