The 19-year-old from the commune of Runcu Salvei, Bistrița-Năsăud County, who was reported missing after leaving with the flock of sheep, returned home safe and unharmed on Friday, after two days of searching.
The information was announced by the mayor of the locality, Daniel Pop, and confirmed by the Bistrița-Năsăud County Police Inspectorate. The mayor thanked the volunteers and intervention teams who participated in the operation.
The young man, Alin Ionuț Constantin, had left with the sheep on Wednesday and did not return. Approximately 20 people, including the commune's mayor, participated in the search. Drones and canine units were used to locate him.
The disappearance caused concern in the community, especially after a she-bear and her cubs had been spotted in the area in the preceding days. The mayor had stated that the authorities were even considering a serious scenario. The young man was found and returned home without being injured.
