Repair works on the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge will last until the end of March 2024, imposing traffic restrictions.

Major problems with the bridge's expansion joints have prompted the Bulgarian authorities to carry out repair works, which will lead to traffic restrictions on the Bulgarian half of the bridge. The European Commission has approved funding for a feasibility study for a new bridge over the Danube at Giurgiu-Ruse between Romania and Bulgaria.
