Traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu-Ruse was suspended Thursday morning for construction work. The restrictions will remain in place until June 5.

Traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu-Ruse was suspended on Thursday, June 4, at 9:00 AM, for all types of vehicles, due to construction and installation works on the Bulgarian side of the bridge. The restrictions will last until 9:00 PM for light vehicles and until the morning of June 5, at 9:00 AM, for heavy tonnage vehicles.

The spokesperson for ITPF Giurgiu, Livia Filimon, mentioned that border and traffic police are present to guide drivers.

The Bulgarian authorities have notified about the temporary restrictions, and the works were scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.

To avoid congestion, it is recommended to use alternative routes through other border crossing points, such as Calafat, Bechet, Zimnicea, and Turnu Măgurele.
