Environmental inspectors and representatives of Apelor Române have started an investigation to determine the causes, suspecting chemical pollution or lack of oxygen as possible reasons. The Avrig town hall confirmed the situation and sent local police officers for checks, taking samples for analysis. Locals are advised not to eat the fish found, although some have ignored the warnings.
