The body of a young woman, found in a suitcase in the waters of the Olt River

The lifeless body of a young woman was found Tuesday afternoon inside a suitcase retrieved from the Olt River, in the area of the dam in Ionești commune, Vâlcea County. The discovery was made by several fishermen, who noticed the suitcase floating and managed to bring it to shore.

After opening the luggage and seeing what was inside, the fishermen called 112. Police and forensic teams arrived at the scene, and the area was secured so that investigations could be carried out.

According to sources involved in the investigation, the victim is a 28-year-old woman from Filiași. Sources cited by Antena 3 CNN claim that the young woman may have been killed approximately 24 hours before her body was discovered. Several blows and abrasions were observed on the body, but the exact cause of death is yet to be established.

After the on-site investigation is completed, the body will be transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. Police are continuing their investigation to reconstruct the circumstances of the crime and identify the person or persons responsible.
