The Aquaterm company announced that the water supplied through the distribution network in Curtea de Argeș and the communes of Valea Danului, Valea Iașului, and Băiculești is no longer potable as of November 2025, due to an increase in turbidity.

This was caused by controlled discharges from the Vidraru Dam, which have clogged the filters of the treatment station at Cerbureni. Following this situation, the filters were cleaned to maintain the operation of the station, but the turbidity of the water increased, and tests conducted showed that the water does not meet physical-chemical and microbiological standards. Although no bacteria were detected, the water remains non-potable and cannot be used for consumption or cooking, being allowed only for household use. Aquaterm has carried out chlorination disinfections and will continue to collect samples to monitor the situation.
