The Ukrainian Embassy in Bucharest announced that on December 12, a concert will take place in Cluj-Napoca, featuring Russian artists Andrey Boreyko and Nikolay Lugansky, accompanied by the State Philharmonic Orchestra. In a Facebook post, the embassy highlighted the contrast between the comfort of Russian artists and the difficulties faced by Ukrainian artists, who live in bomb shelters and risk their lives on the front lines.
Embassy representatives condemned the holding of Russian concerts in the European Union, stating that Russian culture is closely linked to the authorities that triggered the war. Since the beginning of the invasion, at least 224 Ukrainian artists have been killed, and the suffering of the Ukrainian people cannot be ignored through cultural events. The Transylvania Philharmonic could not be reached for comments.
