After the Russian diploma chief requested the evacuation of embassy staff from Kiev due to imminent 'painful attacks', the USA and EU decided to maintain their diplomatic presence in the Ukrainian capital. Romania supports this position and is not evacuating its diplomatic staff.
Additionally, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide explanations. Romanian diplomatic representatives stated that Russia's threats constitute a serious escalation and a potential war crime. Romania reaffirms that it will not be intimidated and that it supports Ukraine's sovereignty. The European Union ambassador in Ukraine emphasized that the Russian threats reflect the Kremlin's desperation, which cannot break Ukraine's resistance and international support.
