The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeri Zaluzhnyi, explained on Wednesday the position he expressed two days earlier regarding the prospects of Ukraine's NATO membership, when, to the surprise of many, he stated that Ukraine would not benefit from joining NATO, reports Evropeiska Pravda and Interfax-Ukraine.
"In front of you is a person who, in 2019, with these hands and this head, developed the entire reform and amendments to nearly 37 legislative acts regarding Ukraine's alignment with the strategic management system, with NATO principles and standards. I have made so many enemies that you can't even imagine. I am for NATO. Ukraine is at war with Russia, without being a NATO member.
