Bros Andrew and Tristan Tate, accused of rape, human trafficking, and child pornography in Romania and Great Britain, will remain in custody in the United States. Judges in Miami have postponed the hearings on their bail request until the completion of the extradition process requested by British authorities.
Romanian authorities provided information that highlighted the public danger posed by the two, thus strengthening the arguments of American prosecutors for keeping them in custody. The Tate brothers requested the court to be released until the decision regarding extradition, but the judges did not accept.
DIICOT sent documents suggesting that the brothers attempted to influence 19 victims to modify their statements, thus assisting American authorities in identifying them. In Great Britain, prosecutors have filed 59 charges against the Tate brothers, including money laundering.
