The local authority from Sector 2 has requested the General Council of Bucharest Municipality to transfer the administration of several boulevards, including Colentina Road, in order to initiate modernization works. The request for Colentina Road refers to the segment between the Obor area and Fundeni Road, where the modernization of road and pedestrian infrastructure, reconfiguration of the cross-section, establishment of bike lanes, expansion of green spaces, and measures to increase road safety are proposed.

Representatives of the Sector 2 City Hall justify the initiative by the increase in the number of vehicles and the degradation of the arteries, emphasizing that modernization would contribute to the smooth flow of traffic and reduction of pollution. The funding for the works could come from the local budget or other sources. The list of targeted arteries also includes Chișinău Boulevard, where structural and aesthetic works are proposed, as well as the revitalization of adjacent areas. The Sector 2 City Hall also requests the takeover of Moșilor Road, where similar works are planned. All these projects depend on the approval of the General City Hall for the transfer of the arteries to local administration.
