The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, expressed support for Donald Trump's initiative to promote peace and international security, especially in the context of the conflict in Gaza. Romania has been invited to become a member of the 'Council for Peace', and Dan has begun a detailed analysis of the Charter of this council to assess its compatibility with existing international commitments, including those within the UN and EU.

The presidential advisor for national security, Marius Lazurca, emphasized the importance of careful reflection before responding to the invitation, considering the long-term implications of this initiative. The Presidential Administration confirms the receipt of the invitation letter from Trump.
