The North Station in Bucharest will benefit from major repairs, as part of a project that requires an investment of 100 million euros, coming from both the state budget and non-reimbursable external funds. The estimated completion date for the works is 2029. The station, included in the List of Historical Monuments, serves approximately 85% of the railway traffic of the Capital and has a total area of over 33,000 square meters.

The project aims to restore the facades, strengthen the structure, modernize the interior installations, and adapt the spaces for universal accessibility. The main objective is to improve the quality of services for passengers, align with European standards, and enhance the built heritage, with all interventions planned to take place without completely interrupting railway traffic.
