The Municipality of Bucharest announced on Tuesday morning that the modernization works of Herăstrău Park will begin soon, the first step being taken in the next 2-3 weeks. This, while the mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that the master plan for its modernization will be ready in three to four months.

According to the Capital City Hall, Mayor Ciprian Ciucu had a meeting with the directors of Urbanism, Investments, and ALPAB to establish the necessary steps.

"In 2-3 weeks, we will empty the lake of water and start working on the bank protections. At the same time, we will conduct expertise to establish technical intervention solutions for pontoons and docks," shows a statement from the Capital City Hall.

PMB will collaborate with experts to create a management plan and a master plan in three to four months that will define the arrangement of paths, urban furniture, playgrounds, and vegetation.

"Now, when I go to Herăstrău Park, I honestly tell you that I am ashamed. And I want it to look a little better," says the mayor.

The mayor emphasized the importance of improving the park's appearance and mentioned the intention to place a statue of King Michael I. The master plan will be essential for the development of the zoning plan for the park.
