The Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, announced that starting from August 1, 2026, all interviews conducted in the selection committees within the Ministry of National Defense will be recorded on video, according to an order published in the Official Gazette. This measure applies to all military units in the country and aims to eliminate suspicions related to the selection process, ensuring equal treatment for all candidates.

Miruță explained that recording the interviews will help reduce subjectivity and prevent situations where candidates are discriminated against based on unofficial criteria. He emphasized that modernizing the Romanian Army involves not only acquiring new equipment but also implementing new rules that promote transparency and meritocracy. This represents an important step in strengthening strong institutions.
