The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Țărnea, had an ironic reaction, speaking about "invented stories with spies" after a statement from the FSB announced the thwarting of a Ukrainian operation aimed at diverting a Kinjal missile-carrying aircraft to the "Mihai Kogălniceanu" base, so that the aircraft could then be shot down by air defense.
"Soviet spy novels were not exactly brilliant as they were exercises in propaganda. Similarly, today’s Russian news invented with spies. What is real, however, is the Russian aggression and the Russian provocations that these stories with planes and spies try to cover up," wrote the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X.
