The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) reacted to the information about the dismantling of high schools teaching in the Romanian language in the Cernăuți region, Ukraine, as part of the educational reform 'New Ukrainian School', which is set to take place starting September 1, 2027. MAE clarified that the list sent by the authorities in Cernăuți is provisional and does not represent a final decision.

Romania has expressed, through diplomatic channels, its dissatisfaction with the fact that this list does not reflect the needs of the Romanian community. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of access to education in the Romanian language for Romanian minorities outside the borders and closely monitors the implementation of the educational reform in Ukraine, considering the educational rights of these communities.
