Representatives of the National Union of Public Employees from the National Institute of Statistics (SINSB) draw attention to the risks generated by the reduction of personnel expenses and the blocking of vacant positions, emphasizing that these endanger the provision of essential macroeconomic indicators, such as GDP, inflation, and unemployment. The union warns that the lack of qualified human resources can affect the reporting of data to international bodies, such as Eurostat and OECD, which could lead to infringement procedures and damage Romania's credibility. Additionally, SINSB complains about the delay in the payment of salary rights established by court rulings, considering it an attack on the rule of law. The union demands the full payment of outstanding salary rights for the years 2025-2026, the exclusion of INS from personnel reductions, and the alignment of salaries to the level of the General Secretariat of the Government, emphasizing that statistics involve not only numbers but also people who deserve recognition and appropriate remuneration.
