Călin Georgescu, the former pro-Russian candidate in the presidential elections in Romania, appeared again at the Buftea Police to sign judicial control, being accused of promoting fascist, legionary, racist, and xenophobic ideologies. His radical supporters gathered in front of the police, chanting slogans in his favor, such as the classic "Back to the second round" and "Călin Georgescu is President," even though Georgescu did not win the elections. He stated that Romania suffers from a crisis of meaning and criticized the political class, while he himself is under judicial control for acts that can lead to imprisonment of up to 5 years. In another case, Georgescu is accused of complicity in an attempt against the constitutional order, being involved in a violent plan to destabilize Romania, alongside the paramilitary leader Horațiu Potra. The plan was stopped by the authorities before it could materialize, and following searches, weapons and explosives were discovered. Prosecutors emphasize that Georgescu's actions endanger national security. Călin Georgescu stated in front of the section: "On what basis were the elections canceled, if you have not been able to reveal anything in a year? I do not need to prove anything, but I have a mention against the entire system and against the entire political class. Those who believe they have won by harming the Romanian people do not know the rules of time, the will of the ancestors who are alive."
