The government has approved an emergency ordinance for the modification and completion of the Forestry Code and the Statute of forestry personnel, necessary for the reorganization of the National Forest Administration - Romsilva. This reform is crucial for fulfilling milestone 24 of the PNRR, related to forests and biodiversity. Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment, emphasized that the new regulations introduce annual performance evaluations, transparent selection rules through competitions, digitalization of control, and clear performance criteria. The annual evaluation will allow for continuous monitoring of results, and the selection will include written tests and recorded interviews.
Additionally, measures will be implemented to increase the operational capacity of forestry personnel, including the use of audio-visual means in control activities. Romsilva's vehicle fleet will be managed through a software application with GPS monitoring, and additional economic activities will only be allowed if they meet criteria for economic efficiency.
