Dâmbovița: Man rescued by SMURD helicopter after being caught by flood on an excavator

The firefighters from Dâmbovița intervened on Tuesday to rescue a man caught by a flash flood on an excavator in the locality of Buciumeni, using a SMURD helicopter to evacuate him from the risk area.

Firefighting and rescue vehicles from several detachments were mobilized at the scene. After the rescue, the person was handed over to the medical team for evaluation.

Following severe weather phenomena, firefighters also intervened to evacuate water from several homes and yards in the communes of Moroeni and Runcu. Dâmbovița was under warning with two Orange Codes, signaling torrential downpours, electrical discharges, and risks of flooding. Authorities advised the population to avoid traveling in affected areas and to protect themselves from potential dangers.
