The Giurgiu Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police announced on Wednesday the temporary suspension of the ferry crossing between Zimnicea (Romania) and Svištov (Bulgaria), starting from July 8, at 11:00 AM. The measure was taken due to unfavorable weather conditions, specifically the low water level of the Danube. Representatives of the company operating the ferry communicated this suspension, mentioning that currently there are no freight vehicles waiting to exit Romania.

Activity will resume as soon as hydrological conditions allow for the safe operation of the service. Authorities are monitoring the situation and will inform the public about its development.
