The Dolphinarium in Constanța will receive five dolphins from Malta, which will arrive in Romania at the beginning of next year, according to the announcement made by Ionela Costache, the chief of staff of the president of the Constanța County Council. These dolphins will be brought under a partnership, not a sale, and they are healthy and trained for shows.

Although an attempt was initially made to acquire four dolphins, the project was abandoned due to legal issues related to their origin. The costs for transporting the dolphins are not yet established, depending on the size of the tanks required. The dolphins could arrive in January 2024, coinciding with the completion of a new pool. Currently, the Dolphinarium has only one dolphin, after one died in March, and the shows are also supported by dolphins from Ukraine.
